"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." ~ Colassians 3:12-14

Why do we doubt him?

Why is it so hard to just trust and believe? I have never in my life...had to try so hard to trust him. Last week was probably the most testing week EVER. Easton started Sunday...two weeks ago...with a fever. To make a long story short we could not get his temp to go away so we took him in that Monday to see the doctor. At this time the highest his temp. had gotten was around 103. The diagnosis from Doctor Ann was that E just had a viral infection...that he would run the temp. for about 3-5 days...but that it just had to run it's course. That next day his fever kept rising...and rising...and rising. We lived the next couple days doing nothing but putting him in cool water and keeping cold rags all over him. Let me tell you...he was a champ! Those rags were ice cold...on his head...neck...and between his legs...OUCH! He never made a whimper. Wednesday evening we noticed even with the cold bath...cold rags...and alternating Motrin and Tylenol...his temp just kept rising. With Aunt Missy's direction...we put our little angel...that was lifeless by this time...in the car and headed to the ER. Thank you Jesus and thanks to Aunt Missy...because by the time we got him to the hospital his temp. was up to 105. In the next 11 hours spent in the ER our little man went through WAY TOO MUCH for a 13 month old! It was the worst 11 hours of my life because I had to be the one to hold him down while they took blood...took his temp. rectally 10 times...and even catheterized him. POOR LITTLE GUY!
When they catheterized him they didn't get any urine out and Daddy looks at the nurse and says, "Um...you're not going to have to do that again are you?" Fortunately, they didn't! But Mommy and Daddy's hearts were breaking! I hate to focus on the bad things, but I wanted everyone to know what our little guy went through and how tough he was. What I want to focus on is how AWESOME our GOD is!!! We are so thankful that it did turn out to be just a viral infection and that it was nothing serious. This has taught me a lot of things. One...how tough my little man is...and two...I need to trust him more... a lot more! I can NOT imagine how parents deal with a sick child. I mean a really sick child...one that lives in the hospital or has to have treatments weekly. It would have to take a strong relationship with God to get through it. Do we really really truly realize how blessed we are. Thank you Jesus for my health, my babies health and my families health!

What a gorgeous girl!!!

and what a handsome little man!!!

Aimee, that is terrible! We were praying for you guys. That had to be scary to say the least. When you think of having a baby these type of situations are not what you think of, huh? Glad little Easton is better. He is adorable!
